What is ArgoElectude is the world's leading automotive e-learning company. Our specialty is creating simulation-based, e-learning modules. We have drawn great inspiration from the gaming industry
Our product, Argo, is the most comprehensive and effective automotive e-learning solution currently available. Argo allows students to learn about the complete vehicle, from bumper to bumper, and teaches them how to maintain and repair cars with interactive animations and simulations.
What are ModulesThe content in Argo appears in modules. A module can contain a theory lesson but it could also include an educational computer simulation, a test, an interesting link or even a task sheet which you have developed. Argo has been created with the perspective that teachers, lecturers and trainers should be able to make their own courses. For this they have at their disposal the hundreds of "ready-made" Argo modules which can compliment their own material or that of colleagues. These can easily be added to Argo. Types of ModulesLessonsThe lesson modules in Argo are theory content units which have been developed by Electude. These have been created by game designers based on the educational principle of guided self-discovery. This means that we aim to provide an environment in which a student can discover operational principles. With small interactive tasks, Argo guides the students step-by-step through the discovery process. Tailor-made lessonsOn special request, Electude will develop special tailor-made lessons which are added to the basic curriculum. Customers who have made use of this service include Mercedes Benz, Nissan and DAF.
DIY LessonsWith the DIY (Do-It-Yourself) lessons, teachers, lecturers and trainers are able to make their own lessons and add them to the Argo modules. These DIY modules could be theory lessons similar to those found in Argo; but, other options for the DIY modules could be tests, task sheets or interesting links with or without accompanying text. It is completely up to the author of the DIY module. These DIY lessons will only be accessible for the author's educational or training institute. For students or trainees, there is no visible difference between the "ready-made" Argo modules and the DIY modules. EDT SimulationThe EDT (Electude Diagnosis Trainer) modules are part of the motor management simulator of Argo. It is an application which visually simulates the behavior of a motor management system through the use of highly accurate algorithms. With the aid of a fault code reader, multimeter and other tools, a user can carry out countless actions in this virtual motor management system. Quite simply, a user can do everything they could do on a real engine. This simulator is equipped with student tasks which have been added as modules. These tasks are related to fault finding. In total more than 100 faults have been programmed with varying degrees of difficulty. These can vary enormously from Level 1, a wet spark plug or an empty tank, to Level 2 where, through the various fault codes, a defective sensor or actuator needs to be found. A Level 4 example is when an erroneous fault code points to the wrong component and the student must think through the problem logically to discover the real solution. |

In short, modules contain all of the elements which make up part of the curriculum. Multiple modules grouped together for a teaching objective are called a course.
It is our belief that self-obtained knowledge gives a deeper insight and is more effective for retention.
