About Electude
Electude was created by two automotive entrepreneurs, Koen Berends and John Vlaar. Both founders were still at university in 1990 when they recognised that technical students are visual and kinaesthetic learners, more suited to using their hands and eyes than reading textbooks.
Technical students prefer to learn by doing, that is why Electude was born. The company quickly grew into one of the Netherlands’ leading automotive curriculum creators and started expanding internationally.
Headquartered in Nuenen, near Eindhoven’s tech hub, Electude is currently present in over 70 countries. The company continues to introduce new curriculum solutions and state-of-the-art training aids for comprehensive blended learning.

Throughout our history, we have empowered over 100,000 teachers and more than 1 million students in 4,000+ schools worldwide.

Our History
1990: Electude is founded by Koen Berends and John Vlaar
1999: Inspired by gaming technology, Electude starts building a discovery-based e-learning solution
2007: Electude launches a revolutionary Learning Management System (LMS) and the Virtual Simulator Challenge
2010: Electude USA LLC is opened
2010: Electude establishes a product partnership with HaynesPro
2014: Automotive Essentials, the automotive core curriculum solution, is completed
2015: The Electric Vehicle curriculum is developed and launched
2016: Classroom, a complete solution for today’s automotive students and instructors, is first launched in the Netherlands
2018: Electude establishes product partnerships with CCAR and MotoLogic
2018: Electude Colombia SAS is opened
2019: Electude establishes a product partnership with Haynes AllAccess
2020: The Heavy Vehicle Systems curriculum is developed and launched
2022: Electude sponsors the WorldSkills Competition 2022 Special Edition
2024: Electude renews its participation as a supplier for the 47th WorldSkills Competition held in Lyon, France
2024: Electude launches a second hybrid training vehicle, part of Electude Connect portfolio
2025: Electude celebrates its 35th anniversary on April 13
2025: Electude gets a new brand identity that reflects who we are today and where we are heading next
Our Initiatives
Electude is committed to bringing positive change to the world by transforming education, promoting sustainability, bridging the skills and opportunities gap in the automotive sector, and contributing to a better society as a whole.
In addition to developing innovative learning solutions, we are honoured to be part of the European EdTech Alliance (EEA) and collaborate with other members to advance education and drive innovation across Europe.
We also make an impact through our involvement with important educational events such as WorldSkills, contributions to environmental projects like Auto-Cove 2.0, and efforts to support underserved communities.
