Auto-Cove: Visit to Electude’s Headquarters and Updates

30 September 2025, Nuenen, the Netherlands — On 23 September 2025, we welcomed the Auto-Cove 2.0 Steering Committee to Electude’s headquarters in the Netherlands. This gathering provided an opportunity to reflect on Electude’s history, share our educational methodology and solutions, and discuss our ongoing contributions to the Auto-Cove initiative.

Jeroen Smetsers, Product Manager at Electude, explained our Learning Cycle

As a key partner in this consortium, Electude is committed to helping close skills gaps in the automotive sector in Europe. With our innovative e-learning platform and guidance on creating learning materials, Auto-Cove can develop innovative study modules for technical students, teachers, and industry representatives.

As the vehicle maintenance sector undergoes rapid transformation, the project has identified critical knowledge gaps in both classrooms and workshops, ranging from high-voltage systems and battery technologies to hydrogen power and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). Developing and delivering dedicated study modules and training courses in these areas is essential to keeping curricula up to date and ensuring a well-prepared workforce for Europe’s automotive industry.

In addition, by developing modules and courses focused on alternative fuel vehicle service and sales, Auto-Cove 2.0 aims to contribute to a greener, more sustainable Europe. The project’s international internship programme also provides students with hands-on experience in electric, hybrid, and hydrogen vehicles. To ensure inclusivity, the programme aims to have at least one-third of participants from diverse or marginalised backgrounds.

All courses developed within the project will be published and stored on Electude’s platform, completely free for users. The development of the project’s learning content on Electude’s platform has now advanced into the piloting and testing stage. It currently includes courses in:

  • Battery Technology and Systems;
  • Hydrogen
  • Fire Safety of HV Batteries
  • ADAS
  • Charging Infrastructure
  • Hybrid Vehicles
  • National Pathway in Mathematics & Physics in Finland and Estonia
  • Car & Spare Parts Sales

Three Electude representatives, Jeroen Smetsers, Daniel Perry, and Patrick van Bronckhorst, also joined the 5th Auto-Cove 2.0 Steering Committee meeting in ’s-Hertogenbosch and visited the project’s host organisation, Koning Willem I College.

By combining innovative e-learning with international collaboration, Auto-Cove 2.0 is upskilling the workforce and supporting the green transition in the European automotive sector. Electude is proud to contribute to this mission by providing a platform that enables high-quality, engaging, and freely accessible learning content to reach students, teachers, and industry professionals across the continent.
