30 May 2024, Schipkau, Germany — The grand finale of the Electude Motor Simulation Competition (EMSCOM) took place on the 30th of May, at the Lausitzring race track, in Schipkau, Germany, with 423 apprentices registered through the Electude platform.
Twenty-three apprentices from six vocational schools qualified for the finals to determine the best in engine diagnostics. The apprentices were accompanied by their specialist teachers, who eagerly followed the event and provided support. Representatives from the Cottbus Chamber of Commerce and Industry were also present, showing great interest in the event.
Everything was prepared for the competition, including excellent catering for all apprentices to ensure they were well-nourished as they entered the contest. The warm-up round began at 10:20 AM with theoretical questions and an Electude motor simulator task. Then the serious competition started, and the elimination round began. In the first round, seven apprentices were eliminated. Eight more apprentices left the competition in the second round, leaving eight participants for the final round. Favourite candidates started to emerge as the competition progressed.
The evaluation took place in Hückelhoven, where our employee, Mr. Martijn Vincken, carefully determined the results. At 3:00 PM, the winners were announced and the awarding ceremony followed:
1st Place: Len Günther, OSZ Uckermark
2nd Place: Sebastian Grasnick, OSZ Lausitz Department 3 Lauchhammer
3rd Place: Eva Rittmann, OSZ Lausitz Department 3 Lauchhammer
Electude awarded the first-place winner with a Ross-Tech VCDS HEX-V2 Profi without limit, the runner-up a LAUNCH CRP129X Plus OBD2, and the third-place winner a TRUE-RMS Digital Multimeter Benning MM 2-3. The 4th to 8th places received an annual license from HaynesPro.
It was a successful day for everyone involved, and we thank all the participants, teachers, and the Lausitzring team for successfully conducting the first Electude EMSCOM competition.
For the next training year 2024/25, we are already planning the next Electude EMSCOM competition, not only for Berlin/Brandenburg, but also for Lower Saxony and North Rhine-Westphalia, with an overall winner from the three states.
