From WorldSkills to Electude – Meet Ahmed Faouzi

05 February 2025, Nuenen, the Netherlands — At Electude, we take pride in collaborating with exceptional talents from the global automotive industry. Today, we’re excited to introduce Ahmed Faouzi, Customer Success Manager at the Automotive Academy in Morocco, one of Electude’s trusted distributors.

Ahmed Faouzi working on Electude’s Plug-in Hybrid Training Vehicle at the WorldSkills competition.

Ahmed Faouzi graduated from the Higher Institute of Applied Technology – ISTA Ait Melloul – and specialised as a Diagnostics and Automotive Electronics Technician. His remarkable achievements include winning a bronze medal at the 2024 Belt and Road International Competition in China and earning a Medal of Excellence at the WorldSkills competition in Lyon, where he secured an impressive 9th place.

The WorldSkills competition challenged Ahmed across four intense days, testing his skills in eight technical modules.  These ranged from manual gearbox repairs and ADAS calibration to hybrid system diagnostics and electrical problem-solving. The preparation for the competition was an intense journey—eight months of hard work, studying and training with Electude’s e-learning.

Ahmed stood out as a competitive participant who thoroughly planned and meticulously executed his tasks. In the last task of the module on E-mobility and Body Electrical, he was the only competitor able to pinpoint the exact location of the fault, leaving a lasting impression on the assessors.

Reflecting on his WorldSkills experience, Ahmed shared: “The competition had a significant impact on me. It changed my perspective on my career, boosted my confidence, and deepened my belief in my abilities. I also gained a lot of new knowledge about my skills and had the chance to meet amazing people from different countries, which was truly inspiring.”

Ahmed Faouzi beyond work

Ahmed’s passion for cars extends far beyond the workshop and competition arena. In his free time, he loves attending car meetups with fellow enthusiasts and embarking on road trips to Morocco’s mountains and villages.

As a proud Moroccan, Ahmed is deeply passionate about his country’s rich culture and traditions. When asked about his heritage, he enthusiastically highlighted Morocco’s renowned craftsmanship passed down through generations. He praised items such as “zellige tiles, woven rugs (especially Berber rugs), silver jewellery, and leather goods (like leather bags and shoes from Fez).”

When it comes to food, Ahmed has some must-try recommendations: “Tajine with goat meat, Arfiisa, or our traditional barbecue. These are my personal favorites, and I enjoy them every chance I get.”
