July 15 2025, Braunschweig, Germany — The latest edition of the Electude Car Diagnostics Competition (EC/DC) has successfully concluded, culminating in an exciting final event held on June 26, 2025, in Braunschweig. EC/DC challenges automotive students with real diagnostic scenarios. Using Electude Engine Simulator, they have to identify, analyse, and fix errors and are evaluated on a range of performance criteria, including diagnostic accuracy, process efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and overall speed.

This third edition of the EC/DC in Germany brought together aspiring automotive technicians from different schools across the state of Lower Saxony.
After initial qualification rounds hosted locally at 13 participating schools in March and April, 24 students representing six schools (Conerus-Schule Norden, BBS Melle, Georg-Sonnin-Schule, BBS Friesoythe, BBS Helmstedt, and Berufliche Schule Fahrzeugtechnik) secured their places in the Lower Saxony 2025 EC/DC finals.
Under the watchful eye of an Electude specialist, students faced off using the engine simulator at Kartcity in Braunschweig, just outside Hanover. In the first round of the finals, the field was narrowed to the top eight competitors, who advanced to the grand finale.
But before the last round, the eight finalists enjoyed a well-deserved break with a different competition: Not behind the computer, but behind the steering wheel on the kart track. The participants had the chance to show their driving skills in a high-speed kart race around the Kartcity track.

After this fun break, they returned to the final showdown, where three standout students emerged as the winners of the EC/DC Lower Saxony 2025:
- 1st Place: Pascal von der Hülls (Conerus Schule Norden)
- 2nd Place: Neele Deten (Conerus Schule Norden)
- 3rd Place: Bernd Olliges (BBS Friesoythe)

All three winners were awarded diagnostic tools generously offered by LAUNCH to support their continued development in automotive technology. The first place received a LAUNCH Creader Professional 359; the second place, a LAUNCH Creader Professional 123 EVO; and the third place, a LAUNCH OBD Diagnostic Device.
According to Björn Schäfer, teacher of Automotive Technology Practice at BBS Melle, “Participating in the Electude Car Diagnostics Competition was truly a highlight for our students and for me as an accompanying teacher. The event was excellently organised, offered a motivating competitive atmosphere, and clearly brought a lot of joy to our students. So much enthusiasm, team spirit, and technical learning in a single day. That motivates not only the students, but also us as teachers.”
Electude congratulates the winners and thanks all students who participated, as well as the dedicated teachers and schools that made this event possible. Following the success of competitions in Germany, we look forward to hosting EC/DC in other EMEA countries.
