1. Our position on AI
AI can support learning, but it cannot replace learning. Electude encourages responsible AI use when it helps students understand concepts, practice skills, and communicate their own thinking.
Use AI to support learning
Students may use AI, when permitted by their school or instructor, to:
- look up information;
- get explanations of difficult topics;
- organize ideas or study notes;
- improve the clarity of their writing;
- check their understanding.
AI should help students think more clearly. It should not do the thinking for them.
Do not use AI to misrepresent your work
Students should not use AI to answer assessment questions for them, complete coursework without engaging with the material, or submit AI-generated work as if it were entirely their own.
Assessment results only have value when they reflect what a student knows, understands, and can apply independently.
Why this matters
In technical education, real competence becomes visible in practical situations: in the workshop, on the job, and when problems need to be diagnosed and solved.
A certificate may show that a course was completed, but professional competence is shown by what a student can actually do.
Be transparent about AI use
Students should follow the AI rules set by their school or instructor. When asked, they should be clear about how they used AI and which parts of the work are their own.
Being honest about AI use protects the value of learning, assessment results, and professional reputation.
Electude’s role
Electude builds learning content that makes students think, apply knowledge, and develop practical understanding — not simply click through screens.
We are not trying to act as “AI police.” Our goal is to create learning experiences that engage students in the work.
Assessment and school responsibility
Electude provides online learning materials, exercises, and formative assessments to support learning and make progress visible.
When assessment results are used for formal grading, certification, or examinations, schools are responsible for administering those assessments within their own assessment policy, IT environment, and quality procedures.
Electude does not provide proctoring, lockdown browser, kiosk mode, or similar secure testing services.
In short
AI is a tool to help, but not to replace your own thinking. A tool is only useful when the person using it understands what they are doing.
Use AI to deepen your understanding, improve your skills, and become a better technician — not simply to finish faster.
